I played a few shows in the mid 90s in Portland that I think made an impact. My first show in Portland was at Umbra Penumbra as part of James Boring's aural fixation. I passed out a photocopied poem titled Swan Song. I then played a saxophone and three tone generators (with my feet). I later played a few more of Jame's nights utilizing cymbals with mallets, a homemade oscillator keyboard, and tape looping through several reel to reels, collaborating with Adam Forkner, Franz, Summer Mastous (spl?), Donovan Skirvin, the dude from Bantha Trax, Eric from King Frog, and Jason Pruitt.

One time I performed with just oscillators through my reel to reels with the long loop, using only the sound coming from the reel to reels. The show was at La Sarinita on NE Alberta. I know that that performance moved a few people. It was intensely harmonic for some reason.

I also played the Rexal Rose to accompany Eric's (from King Frog and Noggin) film work. I felt too intensely about the sounds, and therefore played so quiet that people hardly heard my performance! Afterwords I told people I didn't want to interfere with their experience too intensely! haha.

I did a house show before I ever played in public. It was at the Clubhouse on NE 7th and Mason in 1995. It was for John Toderoff's birthday. Basically they let me set up all the electronics I had collected up till then. Kids in the neighborhood came over and were freaked out.

I drummed in Rodeo Rodeo Rodeo, and also added echo and noise to a Busy Backson track in the studio during this period.
